Illuminated arcades reflected in a puddle

Photograph made without the use of AI

Portrait of photographer Matthieu Leherisse in New York

01 — The photographer

Matthieu Leherisse

Originally from the Bordeaux region, I photograph the fleeting moments when light, water and chance transform the everyday. My perspective is shaped by travel, from Atlantic shores to the great cities of the world, and by a constant attention to reflections, silhouettes and quiet geometries.

Working exclusively with an iPhone 15, I embrace a light, immediate and discreet practice. To me, the camera matters less than the ability to see: each image begins with a pause, a framing and the intuition that beauty is already there.

02 — The approach

No DSLR. No film camera. Just an iPhone 15.

This constraint is not a compromise; it is my starting point. The iPhone is always there, light and discreet. It lets me move closer to the ground, wait beside a puddle and photograph before the moment disappears.

I want to show that a Fine Art photograph is born first from attention, framing and light—not from the prestige of the equipment.

None of the images presented here is generated, reconstructed or composed using artificial intelligence. No visual element is added by AI: each photograph shows exclusively a real reflection in water, observed and captured on location at the moment it appeared.

I approach landscapes, cities and reflections as places of calm. Across my journeys through Europe, North America and Japan, I seek images that bring a sense of peace and optimism.

I made every photograph presented here with an iPhone 15, before selecting it for a Fine Art edition limited to 10 copies in total across all sizes and media. I sign and number each print individually and provide it with a signed certificate of authenticity.

03 — Principles

01

An iPhone 15. Nothing else.

02

Emotion before performance.

03

Vision before technique.

04

The right moment before the perfect equipment.
